Disgraced motorcycle racer Romano Fenati will be given a second chance at a grand prix career in 2019, despite being dropped for dangerous riding this year. Fenati attempted to pull the brake lever of a rival rider in a Moto2 race.
Fenati had his racing licence suspended for the remainder of the year for the incident involving Stefano Manzi.
The Italian was dropped by Marinelli Snipers and had a 2019 agreement with MV Augusta in Moto 2 torn up.
However, his former team have offered him the chance to ride again, hiring him to their Moto3 team in what is described as a fresh start.
Romano Fenati is expected to return to Moto3 next year with the Marinelli Snipers team.
Snipers tech boss Mirko Cecchini said: "It's like, he would like to start from zero.
"This is a new life for him, and okay, he did a mistake, a big mistake, but I think that the media have made bigger than what he was deserving.
"So, we push together, to begin a new life, together, so this is a good point for us, because we have next year a young [rider] that is growing up in Tony [Arbolino] and an experienced rider, we can have both for the top."
