Can Sebastian Vettel still win the F1 world championship?

Sebastian Vettel looked like a sure-fire favourite to take his fifth Formula 1 world championship in 2018, but the Ferrari man's dramatic loss of form and Lewis Hamilton's surge has instead put the Mercedes star on the brink of taking his own title number five.

Vettel has finished behind Hamilton in all five of the races since the German won at the Belgian Grand Prix – the Brit winning four of those.

It leaves Hamilton with a 70-point lead in the drivers' standings, having missed out on a shot at taking out the title at the United States Grand Prix.

Vettel heads to the Mexican Grand Prix with his title hopes out of his hands, but stranger things have happened…

The German will start fourth on the grid, with Hamilton just ahead of him on the second row. A poor omen for Vettel comes in the fact that none of his 52 grand prix wins have come from lower than third on the grid.

Here's what Vettel needs to pull off a miraculous comeback and beat Hamilton to title number five.

TITLE PERMUTATIONS

Vettel must win ALL remaining races to stand a chance.

Hamilton will be champion if he finishes seventh or higher in Mexico.
