Hamilton admits: I would have fallen asleep
Lewis Hamilton has claimed that if he had been watching the Monaco Grand Prix on TV, he would have fallen asleep, as tyre issues for those at the front of the grid meant that cars slowed down to ensure they could reach the end of the race.
In an attritional race at the notoriously difficult-to-pass circuit on the French Riviera, Daniel Ricciardo, who had power issues that limited his performance, led from start to finish to round off a memorable weekend for the Australian.
The chasing pack struggled to keep their tyres in good enough shape to take Ricciardo on, and in the end it was a limp to the finish, one that Ricciardo had mastered from early on.
It was a low-key race from Hamilton's perspective and he admitted that there was little in the race to recommend it.

He told Channel 4: "Big congrats to Daniel, I'm really, really happy for him.
"To get your first win in Monaco is special, but jeez I'm ready to go have some fun now. The tyres weren't great but we were all driving so slow.
"I was thinking whilst driving it's not an attacking race, we're all literally just cruising to make it last 50 odd laps.
"I don't know how it looked from outside, I'm shocked if anyone - maybe they've woken up now - I'd be shocked if anyone was awake at home.
"I would have been asleep on the couch!
Hamilton lost just three points to Sebastian Vettel in the world championship standings, finishing in third position behind the German in second.
