Hendrick Motorsports star Alex Bowman has issued an update on his injuries after a massive wreck at Michigan over two weeks ago.

The No. 48 car was running in the pack during the race restart, when he was hit by a spinning Daniel Suarez and sent into the outside wall head-on.

Bowman crashed into the wall at 150mph and the race was promptly red flagged as the Hendrick Motorsports car came to a standstill in the middle of the track.

Thankfully, Bowman reported that he was without serious injury, and was medically cleared to take part in the subsequent race in Mexico City.

Two weeks later and the 32-year-old has issued an update to the media on his injuries, speaking to Dustin Long ahead of last Sunday’s race at Pocono.

“I would say there were times last week that it was the most pain I’ve ever had through anything,” he said.

“Wednesday last week was the worst for me but this week its just a little bit annoying, so way better than I was.

“You know? It's not like I’m running right now or squatting right now. But other than that I can do almost everything that I could normally, so it wasn’t really a hindrance this week. So, yeah back pointed in the right direction for sure.

“I'm back on the Sim, I was able to go to all of my meetings and kind of had a very normal week which was nice.”

Bowman has previously missed four Cup Series races after he fractured a vertebra in 2023, and was grateful not to miss NASCAR’s visit to Mexico City this year.

The Hendrick Motorsports star finished the race in P4 and currently sits above the bubble alongside Bubba Wallace in the standings, but a win in the final nine races would certainly help Bowman along nicely to reach the playoffs in 2025.
