The Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park's street circuit in Melbourne is the traditional curtain raiser to the F1 season - normally taking place in early March. Melbourne took over from Adelaide as the home of the race in 1996 and has become a staple of the annual schedule since then. The 2026 race took place on March 8, with George Russell and Kimi Antonelli giving Mercedes a 1-2 to start the season.
