NASCAR rival THREATENS Carson Hocevar in tense Mexico City altercation

NASCAR star Carson Hocevar was threatened by one of his Cup Series rivals in a tense post-race altercation in Mexico City.

The driver of the No. 77 Chevrolet suffered somewhat of a miserable outing on Sunday, making several errors on his way to a 34th-place finish at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

To make matters worse, in the latter stages of the race, Hocevar was involved in an incident with Ricky Stenhouse Jr for the second time in three races, colliding with his rival and spinning his car around after locking his brakes heading into the stadium section.

Immediately after the race, Stenhouse Jr made his feelings explicitly clear to Hocevar, storming over to the No. 77 car, leaning through the window and issuing a clear threat.

"I’m going to beat your ass!” Stenhouse Jr raged.

"You're a lap down. Why did you run right into me?"

"Second time," Stenhouse Jr continued, likely referring to the fact that Hocevar wrecked him at Nashville earlier this month.

Hocevar was apologetic and accepted that he was the driver who had messed up, explaining to his rival that he had locked up, but Stenhouse Jr was in no mood to listen.

“I don’t give a damn!" Stenhouse Jr continued.

"I’m going to beat your ass when we get back into the States.”

What happens at the next race when the pair are in close proximity on-track remains to be seen, with Denny Hamlin having already predicted that Stenhouse Jr would wreck Hocevar at some stage following their incident at Nashville.

The pair had cooled tensions with a phone call after that incident, and it will be interesting to see if they do the same this time around.
