About Kerry Violet

Kerry Violet is a motorsport journalist and editor specialising in F1. She covers many facets of the sport, including breaking news that takes place both over the course of a championship and throughout the off-season. Kerry has an impeccable eye for detail and contributes to the GPFans live F1 race weekend coverage by writing race reports and breaking news articles, as well as overseeing the schedule across a grand prix weekend from an editorial perspective.

In addition to her daily duties as F1 News Editor and journalist, Kerry also manages and writes the affiliate content for GPFans Global, keeping a close watch on the latest trends, kit releases and merchandise collaborations from all 11 F1 teams and fan-favourite driver brands.

Areas of Expertise

Since joining GPFans, Kerry has closely covered the 2024 and 2025 F1 championships in detail and continued to contribute to the brand as her role continues to grow for the F1 2026 campaign.

Kerry puts fans at the heart of her work and is skilled at breaking down complex FIA punishments and contextualising them for readers who are new to the sport or may have begun following F1 in the Drive to Survive era.

She is particularly knowledgeable about the F1 driver market and junior driver programmes, and also keeps abreast of ongoing controversies and the latest news from F1 Academy, Formula E and WRC.

Experience in the Field

Kerry has played a vital role as part of the core GPFans editorial team since 2024, branching out from her position as F1 News Editor to focus on a high volume of written contributions from an F1 news perspective and with a focus on F1 merchandise.

She has also carried out on-site reporting for GPFans at exclusive events, passing on quotes to the wider team for news articles and writing up her own features and fan guides based on her experience at events such as the F1 Exhibition and An Evening with Racing Icons Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard.

During a busy F1 race weekend, Kerry is either managing the workload and journalists covering the track action, ensuring fair and accurate reporting, or she is working on her own coverage of the grand prix weekend. As a writer on a grand prix weekend, Kerry builds race reports, live reaction pieces and breaking news articles under significant time pressure, always making sure to maintain a clear line of communication with senior editors.

Editorial Approach

Kerry takes a fan-focused approach to her writing, whilst always maintaining an open line of communication with team press contacts and communications representatives for Formula 1 and the FIA.

Any rumours that come to Kerry’s attention, both as a writer and in her capacity as an editor, are dealt with through appropriate verification, seen through gathering official team statements and leaning on reliable sources with which she has worked hard to maintain a positive working relationship with since joining the GPFans team.

Kerry also keeps these sources in mind to get ahead of the next biggest motorsport stories, approaching teams and contacts for official comment when a big news story is about to break, whilst also identifying appropriate opportunities to seek out the potential for follow-up stories too.
