NASCAR Cup Series star Denny Hamlin has signed a new contract with Joe Gibbs Racing, the team has confirmed in an official statement.

Hamlin ranks 11th on the all-time Cup Series win list following the 58th victory of his career at Dover last Sunday, and has been with Joe Gibbs Racing since his Cup debut back in 2005.

That means that the 44-year-old has already spent two decades with the team, with that now set to continue for the foreseeable future, with Hamlin having signed what JGR have mysteriously called a 'multi-year' deal.

“Joe [Gibbs] and everyone at JGR are family to me and have done so much for me over the last 20 years,” Hamlin explained in an official Joe Gibbs Racing statement.

“We’ve had a solid start to this season and we have been able to welcome some great new partners this year, so there are a lot of exciting things happening with our team not only now, but also into the future.”

'Remarkable' Denny Hamlin signs new deal with Joe Gibbs Racing

Hamlin has so far made 706 Cup Series starts for Joe Gibbs Racing in his career, with a resume that includes three Daytona 500 victories in 2016, 2019, and 2020.

The No. 11 driver is looking as good as ever so far in 2025, too, having scooped wins at Martinsville, Darlington, Michigan, and Dover so far this year.

“I really appreciate Denny and everything he has meant to our organization,” said Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing.

”It is just really special when you think about everything we’ve experienced over the past 20 years, from that first moment when J.D. [Gibbs] recognized his talent at a test session, until now.

"It is remarkable in any sport to compete at the level Denny has for this long and we are thrilled he has been able to spend his entire career with us.”

Hamlin's next race will be at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, with the No. 11 once again looking for consecutive victories this season.

Longer term, Hamlin may even have a shot at his first Cup Series championship, looking as likely as anyone at this stage of the season to take the title at Phoenix in November.
