Three NASCAR insiders have issued their race predictions ahead of this weekend's action in Chicago.

The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the streets of Windy City once again this weekend, with qualifying taking place on Saturday ahead of Sunday's Grant Park 165.

Following Chase Elliott's victory at Atlanta last time out, just four spots remain up for grabs in the playoffs via the points, making this a crucial weekend for several drivers.

Indeed, with it being a road course, it is very much open as to who will take the victory, and if we get a new winner, it would too secure their spot in the postseason, meaning just three spots for stars to point their way in.

Currently, Tyler Reddick occupies 13th spot in the playoff standings, with Chris Buescher, Alex Bowman and Bubba Wallace the other drivers on the bubble at present.

Reddick backed for Chicago victory

Reddick won't have to worry about points if one NASCAR insider's prediction comes true, however, with Mamba Smith predicting the 23XI star to take the win on Sunday.

“I’m really, honestly, I’m really up in the air about who I should pick on this one," Smith explained on Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour. "I think I’m going to go with Tyler Reddick.

"He’s had speed there before. I think he kind of gave one up there before. And they need to keep these good runs going. So, I’m going to go Tyler Reddick.”

Co-host Kaitlyn Vince disagreed, however, going for road course specialist Shane van Gisbergen, who already has won victory under his belt in Mexico City this year.

Elsewhere, NASCAR champion Harvick believes made his pick, predicting Joe Gibbs Racing star Ty Gibbs for the win, which would be a shock given he is yet to win in the Cup Series.

“I’m going to look at the weather forecast," Harvick explained. "I’m going to make this super technical. Let’s see.

"And I’m not going to tell you if it’s raining, because you’re not changing your pick.

"10-day, 50% chance of rain on Sunday. Hmm. Yep. I’m going to go with Ty Gibbs.”

It will certainly be interesting to see whose prediction, if any, comes true!
