NASCAR rival slams Ross Chastain in X-rated message

NASCAR star Ross Chastain was slammed by one of his Cup Series rivals over the radio at Mexico City.

Both the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series were in action south of the border this past weekend, with the Viva Mexico 250 taking place on Sunday at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

After three top-10 finishes in the last five races prior to Mexico City, including a win at the Coca-Cola 600, Chastain had a rougher time this weekend, only finishing 16th.

And, on the way to that 16th place, Chastain irked rival Chase Briscoe, who made his feelings known over the team radio.

"F**k that motherf****r," Briscoe blasted over the radio, referring to Chastain, after he appeared to be shoved by the No. 1 car.

Briscoe went on to have the last laugh following the mini-battle, with the Joe Gibbs Racing star finishing seventh in Sunday's race, nine spots above Chastain.

Who won the NASCAR race in Mexico City?

Sunday's Cup Series race in Mexico City was won by Shane van Gisbergen in dominant fashion.

By the end of the 100 racing laps, the Kiwi had amassed a 16-second gap over his nearest competitor, Christopher Bell, marking the largest winning margin in the Cup Series since 2009.

Van Gisbergen is now locked into the playoffs this season despite sitting 30th overall in the Cup Series standings.

With Bell finishing second in Mexico, Chase Elliott rounded out the top three, with Alex Bowman and Michael McDowell finishing in fourth and fifth, respectively.

John Hunter Nemechek, Briscoe, Cole Custer, William Byron and Chris Buescher all finished inside the top 10, from fifth to 10th.
