Schumacher to lean on Brawn, Todt and Domenicali in case of F1 "doubts"
Schumacher to lean on Brawn, Todt and Domenicali in case of F1 "doubts"
Haas 2021 driver Mick Schumacher has said he will not be afraid to seek advice from Jean Todt, Ross Brawn or Stefano Domenicali during his rookie year.
FIA president Todt, F1 managing director motorsports Brawn, and incoming F1 CEO Domenicali, all worked with Schumacher's seven-time champion father Michael during his successful period with Ferrari.
“All three have been a great part of my dad’s career and also have been of mine," said the 21-year-old German, who could be crowned F2 champion this weekend.
"So obviously it’s great to see them all succeed so well in the sport and also do well aside from being team bosses or involved in teams.
"It helps me to be able to understand the sport in a different way, to see it through their eyes and their experiences which can only help me in the future."
Asked as to how he felt the experience of the trio could benefit him across the early stages of his F1 career, Schumacher explained: “What I meant by that was I see how much effort they had to put in, how much work they had to put in with my dad to try and win these consecutive championships.
"Afterwards they all emerged, with Jean the FIA president, and Ross and Stefano working in F1 now.
“So it’s great to understand how they see the sport, where they see the sport going and [what it is] developing into.
“It’s really just great for me to understand all that before going into the sport, and I will always go back on them if I have any doubts or whatever.”
