VIDEO: F1 Testing Day 3 Q&A from Barcelona

Lap times began to tumble on day three of Formula 1 pre-season testing, albeit from a couple of surprising sources, as Kimi Raikkonen and Daniil Kvyat broke new ground for 2019. The Alfa Romeo and Toro Rosso drivers are the first, and so far only, to dip below the 1min 18secs barrier.

Raikkonen did so early in the day, with Kvyat then lowering the bar in the final hour, clocking 1:17.704 – a time he later claimed had not required him to "go balls out"…

There was also the heartening sight of Williams taking to the track for the first time in 2019, having suffered delays with getting the FW42 ready.

George Russell completed a handful of laps in the afternoon, with the team's aero-testing programme to begin on Thursday.

Toto Wolff claimed that Ferrari have a pace advantage over Mercedes at this early stage, although the Silver Arrows' champion behind the wheel Lewis Hamilton was less concerned when he met media for the first time in Barcelona on Wednesday.

With plenty to mull over, Rob Watts fielded the best of your questions over at @GPFansGlobal on Instagram at the end of day three in Barcelona.
