Verstappen: Red Bull have a 'real chance' in Singapore
Max Verstappen believes that Red Bull have a "real chance" of gaining a good result and potentially claiming a podium spot in the Singapore Grand Prix next week as the Marina Bay Street Circuit has proved a positive destination for the team in the past.
Verstappen didn't enjoy a great time in Monza at the Italian Grand Prix as he incurred a penalty from the stewards which resulted in a well-publicised rant from him over the team radio.
However, he is hoping that Singapore can provide better success. Last season, the Dutchman actually retired from the race due to an early collision, but Daniel Ricciardo was able to gain the second spot behind the winner, Lewis Hamilton.
Although the previous good results weren't for Verstappen personally, he knows the team and the car suit the upcoming circuit.
“I think the whole team is looking forward to Singapore because we know we have a real chance to have a good result there," he told Verstappen.nl.

"The race has been a strong one for us in the past and I think we should be able to challenge for a podium this year. I really enjoy driving there; the track has a lot of corners and is quite bumpy but it makes it all the more interesting to find a good set-up for the car.”
Verstappen then discussed the conditions of the race as they are unlike most others due to the nighttime drive and the severe humidity, saying the different format creates a "buzz" around the paddock.
“The night race and hot temperatures really test you to the limit, for me Singapore is physically the hardest race of the season" the Red Bull driver continued,
"I have been preparing for quite a while.
"A night race, in general, is a bit different with the lights, it adds an extra aspect that we don’t have at the majority of races. The atmosphere around the whole weekend creates a great buzz and is a perfect way to kick off the fly away races.”
