Hungary test: Giovinazzi tops morning session

The first session of post-Hungarian Grand Prix testing took place on Tuesday morning and it was Antonio Giovinazzi behind the wheel of a Ferrari who recorded the best time, while Lando Norris impressed for McLaren as he led for a portion of the session also.

The 24-year-old, who took part in the practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Friday with Sauber, recorded a time of 1m19.648s which was just seconds slower than the best time of the GP weekend which was clocked by Sebastian Vettel in FP3.

Norris of McLaren led the standings for the majority of the morning, but ended up being 0.318 seconds adrift of Giovinazzi, with the former on medium tyres and the latter on soft.

The top three was completed by Force India driver Nicholas Latifi, who, along with Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull and Oliver Rowland of Williams, tested his team's new 2019 front-wing design on the track as seen below.
