Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Bottas wins after close fight with Hamilton

The 2017 Formula 1 season has come to a close. The final race in Abu Dhabi was won by Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas after a close fight with his teammate Lewis Hamilton. After a pretty uneventfull start, the race ended up with a great fight between the two Mercedes drivers.

At the start of the race just about everybody took off without big problems. Only Haas driver Kevin Magnussen had a big moment, when he spun off after losing grip on the outside of a corner. He managed to stay out of the barriers and continued the race.

The first driver to retire was Daniel Ricciardo, whose car was struck by a hydraulic failure. Renault driver Carlos Sainz later ended up with a loose wheel after his pitstop, which caused him to also retire. His teammate Nice Hulkenberg managed to finish the race and take home the sixth position for Renault in the constructors championship.

In the final ten laps of the race, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas had a close fight, with Hamilton putting a lot of pressure on his Finnish teammate. Eventually Bottas managed to stay ahead and win the race, after starting on pole position for the fourth time in his career. Dutch driver Max Verstappen tried to stay close to Kimi Räikkönen, but in the end couldn't get close enough to overtake the Ferrari driver.
