Ferrari receive bizarre fine for Vettel's 1.7km/h error

Ferrari have been given a fine by the FIA because Sebastian Vettel exceeded the speed limit in the pit lane by 1.7km/h during qualifying for the French Grand Prix on Saturday - but the amount has been limited to the bizarre payment of €200.

Due to some track concerns regarding visibility, the maximum speed allowed in the pit lane was reduced from 80 km/h to 60km/h ahead of FP3 on Saturday morning.

And Vettel was caught exceeding the revised speed limit by just 1.7km/h, which probably explains the leniency of the amount of the fine given to Ferrari.

Even still, I don't think a team the size of Ferrari will have too many sleepless nights worrying about writing a cheque to cover this!
