Guns N Roses confirmed for Abu Dhabi GP appearance

The Formula 1 season will go out with a bang at the Yas Marina Circuit, with Guns N Roses announced as headliners of the after-race concert at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Original band members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will all be present.

Hip-hop star The Weeknd is slated to play a set on the Friday evening in Abu Dhabi, as Liberty Media's push for entertainment off the track to complement races continues at pace.

GNR's set promises to be all killer no filler, with an official statement saying the band will "perform the full Guns N' Roses back catalogue of hits including 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Sweet Child o' Mine' and 'Paradise City'."

Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, said: "Guns N' Roses are one of the biggest groups in music and reinforces our four-day proposition of on-track, off-track and after-race entertainment.

"We are thrilled to announce that the original line-up of the band will be headlining the Sunday night show at this year's Yasalam After-Race Concerts as part of the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race weekend.

Pop star Christina Aguilera performed at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last time out, while the Yas Marina Circuit have promised two more "A List" stars to perform over the closing weekend of the season.
