Norris takes Verstappen's advice

Lando Norris has seemingly taken the advice of Formula 1 rival Max Verstappen and 'binned' his sim racing game.

Norris was due to take part in the latest F1 Virtual Grand Prix on Sunday, but due to a computer glitch was unable to enter the system.

McLaren driver Norris was instead forced to look on as Ferrari's Charles Leclerc won on his Esports debut, with the race using Melbourne's Albert Park circuit from the F1 2019 game.

During the race, Norris opted to call Verstappen for a chat, that was viewed on the Briton's Twitch stream.

Verstappen, who has not entered either Virtual GP event so far as F1 2019 is not a gaming platform he uses, simply told Norris: “Close the game, throw it in the bin!”

The Red Bull star later reiterated he will not be competing alongside Norris in future Virtual GPs, adding just before he signed off: “Well, have fun watching and, yeah, I'll never join that.”

Norris then appeared to heed Verstappen's words as he uninstalled the game from his system.

As one of the biggest draws for the F1 Virtual Grand Prix series, however, it is almost certain Norris will be back online again for the next round on April 19 at China's Shanghai International Circuit.
