Albon reflects on 'circus' of F1
Alexander Albon believes he is finally getting to grips with the demands of being a Formula 1 driver now that he has competed in seven races with Toro Rosso. After the “daunting” early days of being in the highest level of motorsport, he is beginning to feel more comfortable.
Albon was a junior driver for Red Bull throughout most of his early career, but decided to make the move to Formula E as an opportunity for a seat did not come immediately.
However, before he could debut in Formula E, he was recruited by Toro Rosso to replace Pierre Gasly, who had been promoted to Red Bull.
It was a quick turnaround for the 23-year-old, who admits that it has taken him a while to get used to the demands of F1.
“The F1 circus isn’t so crazy once you’ve spent time in it. You just adjust to it and everything becomes normal. I’m getting there,” he said.

“At the beginning, it was a bit daunting in some respects how much stuff you had to do. Now it’s more like, you get used to it.
“Early points was always good for me. I’m happy with the team as well. I feel very comfortable with them, I don’t feel stressed out or anything like that. I’ve got a lot of support from these guys and the feeling is good."
After his first seven races in F1, Albon is currently 15th in the drivers’ championship in his rookie season.
